NORTH CAROLINA – The International Missions Advisory Committee (IMAC), together with our Area Directors and International Missions office staff, met last week for two full days of meetings at the beautiful Advent Christian Campground in Blowing Rock, N.C. IMAC members are appointed by the Executive Council to advise the Director of International Missions in strategic decision-making, appointment of new missionaries and strategizing steps to take in dealing with complicated situations. Our in-person meetings are a rich time of prayer, discussion and fellowship.

We spent an entire morning discussing recruitment of new missionaries from our North American churches. We sensed the Lord’s leading us toward actions that will build up our pastors and local churches and foster a sense of unity in the work of international missions. We prayed over and discussed in-depth several challenging ministry situations from our Asia/Pacific, Africa/Europe and Latin America mission sites. IMAC’s special calling is to seek the Lord’s direction and leading in the many ministries the Lord has given us to encourage, partner with and superintend. IMAC members include: David Van Huisen, Rob Buchanan, Sam Walsh, Jim Jensen and Frank Jewett. A special thank you to each of them and to our area directors for their service and dedication to the Lord’s work.
