Luella Warriner Johnson

Luella Warriner Johnson passed away after a brief illness on April 11, 2015, in Dowling Park, Florida.  She was born on August 17, 1922, to John and Charlotte Warriner in Bellingham, Washington. Luella was an excellent student and could have graduated early from high school, but she took extra classes in order to stay with her age group. Then off to Aurora College in Illinois where she excelled. During the Second World War the college was close-knit and a great place to be. Back in Bellingham she became a chemist at the plant that would later be Georgia Pacific. In 1947 Luella married Max Johnson who also worked there, and they were active in the Bellingham Advent Christian Church. They were also faithful in attending the triennial General Conference meetings.

After visiting Dowling Park they decided it was a good place to retire. Max got established there first and Luella joined him after completing her term as president of the AC Western Region. They made many friends at the Advent Christian Village and were helpful in various ways. Luella’s brother, Rev. Austin Warriner, and wife, Dorothy, moved to Dowling Park in 2007, and Dorothy became a resident in the nursing home. When Luella’s husband, Max, also entered the nursing home, she and Austin began sharing a home together. Luella is greatly missed.

Luella was pre-deceased by her parents, her two sons, Lewis Johnson and Alan Johnson and her husband, Max. She is survived by her daughter, Helen Green; Lewis’ widow, Deborah Johnson; six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; her sister, Rhoda Peel; her brother, Austin and his wife, Dorothy. Hers was a life well lived. She now awaits the glorious resurrection.Luella
