Maine State Conference Holds Annual Meeting

The Maine State Advent Christian Conference met Saturday, October 3 at Blessed Hope Advent Christian Church in Waterville, Maine for their annual conference meeting. Their regular scheduled spring meeting was postponed until October because of COVID-19. They had 27 people in attendance, most being pastors. Conference President Rev. David W. Davis presided over the meetings.

The participants felt the Holy Spirit was there in a special way, drawing them closer in unity. They passed the budget, and while doing so, added monies to the Pastor to the Pastors position currently held by Rev. David Patterson. The conference officers are Rev. David W. David, president; Kent Davis, vice president; Rev. Bill Harris, secretary; Rev. Russell Giasson, treasurer; Rev. Ernest Carle and Josh Cheney as members-at-large on the executive board. Rev. Tim Soucy serves as an ordained minister on the ministerial committee. Rev. Davis was re-elected to another three-year term.

Rev. Davis challenged the delegate body with the question, “What does God want us to do together?” They will revisit this next year, and the desire is that in the coming year, the Advent Christian churches of Maine will seek the Holy Spirit’s wisdom, discernment and guidance for the future work of the conference. Hopefully, God will call some church planters to Maine.
