Mexican AC Conference Meeting Filled to Overflowing

By Craig Libby, Latin America Area Director

MEXICO – What do you do when you hold a church conference meeting in Tecate, Mexico and you run out of room in the church? You go to every closet and every back storage room to find every available chair, dust those chairs off and line them up in the church parking lot. What a joy it was to witness the overwhelming attendance of the good folk of our AC churches at the September 30 conference meeting. As the afternoon unfolded, carload after carload of attendees arrived from our Tecate, Tijuana and Ensenada churches. The event was immersed with fun, food, fellowship and focused teaching from the Word of God. The youth started off the praise time with a choregraphed worshipful dance. Announcements and customary acknowledgements were made. The praise team came ready to lead the collective voices in robust worship. At first, I was concerned for those who came late and had to sit outside that they would not be able to see or hear the praise team. Upon commencement of the worship, those concerns were eradicated as we were able to hear and participate in the worship just fine in the parking lot as well as down the street. Pastor Miguel taught on God’s faithfulness in being a covenant keeper of his promises to us. Afterwards, food flowed out of the makeshift kitchen and the joyous, encouraging and celebratory atmosphere continued late into the evening. Occasionally in all areas of life it’s nice to have a win. For our Mexican Churches as well as the kingdom of God this was a win!
