My Son’s Birthday Introduced a Family to Church

JAPAN – Rowena Cabrizos, missionary and Agape House Worldwide leader and founder, shared this incredible story of one Japanese woman’s journey as she begins the path toward hope.

“She is one of my colleagues in an English class for children since 2021. We still continue to meet almost every week for the English class when I am in Japan, and have established a closer relationship and have built a friendship. On April 27, we had an outing with her family and my children. Our children had a wonderful time together. On our way home, Zoe (my son) suddenly invited her son to church on May 5 because after the church service was his birthday party. That conversation surprised me! My Japanese colleague was excited and wanted to join as well. I was so thankful to God for the ministering to this lady.

While she was listening to the sermon, the statement, “I will be a father to you” (2 Corinthians 6:18) remained in her thoughts. So, Thursday came when we met again, she shared with me her church experience and asked me, “God can be a Father to us?” Then I started slowly sharing with her God’s Word. She added that she wanted to know more about my faith, my ministry and my life. She further added that though she is way far from believing in the God we believe, she is willing to take the journey. She wants to come back to church (that was her first time). I truly thank God for answering my long-time prayers of leading them to church and hopefully they will someday be saved. I ask you all to join with me in praying for them.”
