New AC Church in Aurora

ILLINOIS – Aurora has a new Advent Christian Church – The Advent Christian Church of Aurora. With the help and guidance of Church of the Highlands and Rev. James Messick, weekly Sunday services are currently held at 10:30 in “a house church” at 1135 Garfield.

The former Aurora Advent Christian church merged with Redeemer Community Church. With this merger, ALL of the former church’s assets went to Redeemer Community Church.

“Our new church is seeking God’s direction as to ministry and mission of our congregation. We are so grateful for the provisions that have been provided for our new congregation. Please pray for our growth in this new ministry, we are so excited to see what God has in store.”

  1. Such a sad story for the AC Church of Aurora. A much greater report of what happened would be appreciated. Why did they turn over all assets to Redeemers and how are they starting new church with no resources? The Aurora church was the heartbeat of the denomination, what is happening?

  2. Praise the Lord for the Aurora church. After hearing that the AC Church in Aurora was no more, I was blessed to hear those members are beginning to worship as a new church again. God is to be praised! So many churches are closing across our country, all denominations, it was at first very discouraging that the Aurora church had also closed. I pray God will bless those who are left and that their group will grow as they worship our Lord. We actually have a pastor at the Roanoke, VA church who graduated years ago from Aurora who grew up in our church in Clifton Forge, VA, Rev. TG Ayers. All churches were affected when Satan sent Covid 19, but we are still alive in VA., but struggling with attendees also at Central A. C. in Clifton Forge, VA
