Kenya/Malawi

Africa/Europe Area Director Bryce Whiting, along with Pastor Travis Hutcheson from Shiloh Advent Christian Church (Monroe, N.C.), left on Friday, February 21 for Africa. They will spend five days in Kenya and five days in Malawi.

The visit to Kenya will offer a time of training with encouragement to the churches and to the Mercy Home Orphanage, a one-year-old operation with already 70 children. This country is presently plagued with locusts, which they have not seen in 25 years. Food prices are spiking from the daily decreasing supply. Last week, the children were eating only a cup of corn meal mush for dinner.

The visit to Malawi will be a bit different and more challenging. They will meet with church leadership from Mozambique. There has been a harsh division as 16 pastors and churches have left the conference.

Please pray for Bryce and Travis during their time with these conferences, as well as for good health and protection.

Malaysia

Ministry leader Ruth Devairakkam shares with us:

My husband Wilfred’s sister was diagnosed with cancer. We visited her at the hospital in Kuala Lumpur just before her surgery, and stayed until her surgery was over. She shared with us that she felt the presence of Jesus in the operation room. We give all praise and glory to Jesus.

She was scheduled to go for another surgery. When they did a scan, the doctors were amazed. There were no cancer cells in her body. She called us to share this good news and she also said that Jesus did this miracle for her. We want to rejoice together with you for your consistent and persistent prayer and intercession for our work and family. Wilfred’s sister and her family are very supportive of our ministry work.

The picture below shows Ruth at a prayer meeting held in her home recently. It was organized by the Tamil Pastors Fellowship. Ruth prepared lunch for them.

Thailand - Christian Mission Naratchakwai (CMN)

Advent Christian Missions New Zealand recently received this letter from Maeo, the Director of CMN, expressing appreciation for support of their ministries and activities in prayer, financially and practically (see below).

Since they made contact with this ministry in 2004, ACMissioNZ has developed a very close relationship. They have also supported the CMN financially and prayerfully, sending three Work/Ministry Teams to assist them practically and to be involved in their many different ministries. A total of 26 different people from New Zealand and the U.S. have been part of these teams (the Project Nehemiah Team in 2006/07, the Gen. 12:1 Team in 2011/12 and the Project Barnabas Team in 2016/17) with several being members of more than one team.

There are projects that another team could help them with. If you are interested in being involved sometime in the future, please contact Ernie Schache at ernie.schache@acmissionz.org.nz.
