Penny Crusade – We’re off to a great start!

Thank you for your contributions to Penny Crusade 2020! As of February 29, we have received $17,367 – an increase of almost $3,000 as of this time last year. Penny Crusade giving provides many exciting new opportunities for International Missions. Here are just a few things taking place this year:

  • a new area director joining our mission team
  • Rowena Cabrizos (Agape House Ministries, Philippines) attending our 2020 Triennial Convention in August.
  • a missionary family in the process of being placed on the field this year
  • planning for Explore Missions and Ambassador Trips in 2021
  • international fields being visited and encouraged (International Missions Director Jeff Walsh and our new Asia/Pacific Area Director went to India and Myanmar in February. Africa/Europe Area Director Bryce Whiting traveled to Kenya and Malawi.)
With just a few highlights, you can see that Penny Crusade is critical to our ministries. Without the prayers and support from our Advent Christian churches, we wouldn’t be able to make any of these mission advances. Just putting a family on the field is a significant increase for our mission budget. Please share with your churches just how vital their support for Penny Crusade is for our continued mission work. Without Penny Crusade giving, we wouldn’t be able to reach out to our ministries and continue to direct and guide them in reaching those for Christ. Thank you for supporting our mission office, and please pray as we continue to work to reach the unreached for his kingdom. Submitted by Director of International Missions Jeff Walsh

Nine MTI students met during the conference session for their regular cohort training.

Southern Region Superintendent Joe Pritchett installed the officers of the Eastern North Carolina Conference for 2020.

Crouseville AC Church, Maine

Team Mexico is headed to join Mexican Medical Ministries this coming April. We are in the last stage of raising funds for this trip – $8,800.00. We are excited for this group of people and amazed at the outpouring of prayer and financial support already. God provides!

India - Fellowship of Blessed Hope Churches

Pastor T. Daniel’s church at Periyakulam is southwest of Tamil Nadu State and is located in the foothills of the Western Ghats (mountains). Pastor Daniel ministers with an emphasis on reaching out with the gospel to villages which surround their town, and they have already begun services in one nearby village called Chemman Kuzhi. He is also concentrating on nurturing and teaching the young people in his church and in the villages that they visit. On Sunday, February 23, Pastor Daniel had the pleasure of going to a nearby river where he baptized seven new believers.

Myanmar

Pastor Timothy writes, “Three Bible students graduated on Saturday, February 22. Two are from my orphan home and one is from my home church. I and Hoi [wife] are very happy for them.”

We are saddened at the death of Paul Tial Ceu, a pastor, evangelist and church planter who served the Lord within the Advent Christian Church of Myanmar. Paul Tial Ceu died on February 27, 2020 from complications from two surgeries he had undergone on his stomach. Pastor Timothy wrote, “We lost a great man. He preached the gospel village to village all the times till he died.”
