Ministry Director Rowena Cabrizos attended a 25-day session with Haggai International Institute at the Mid Pacific Center in Maui, Hawaii during the month of November. This training was to aid in her efforts of evangelizing and discipling globally, as well as making connections with other attendees from all over the world. As a participant, Rowena is committed to pass on the training to other Christian leaders in her homeland.

Rowena shares her Haggai experience:

I thank God for my Haggai Leadership Experience (HLE). There are so many things that I have learned as a strategically-positioned leader. The vision is “Every nation redeemed and transformed through the gospel of Jesus Christ.” HLE is a denomination-blind organization, which indeed promotes the unity of the body of Christ as well. I flew from the Philippines on November 3. Upon arrival, I met 60 other ladies from 31 different countries.

There were so many topics related to being passionate in evangelism as God’s mandate: taking a lead to train others to evangelize, the how-tos on evangelizing different kinds of people including nominal Christians, people who have no religion, cults, young generations and many more. More importantly, we were also taught the importance of “walking our talk” and “talking our walk.” During the first Saturday morning devotion, I had the privilege to share my testimony.

Aside from our classes, we were given ample time to truly listen to God, seeking the individual vision that God has given to us. I was able to coach some of the ladies in this. Those moments were so memorable as we enjoyed more time with God. I have heard him speaking into my heart the word CONNECT. I do believe this is one of the answers to his promise of “enlarging our tent” as what God gave us during the first month of this year. It’s the spiritual territory that God has enlarged and is enlarging. It became clearer when I was nominated to represent, as the guest speaker, on behalf of my class of 31 ladies during our convocation. This was one of the wonderful experiences I had.

Here are a few of the many things I was reminded of during my experience:

  • prioritize evangelism and missions in local church settings
  • reach the young generation and people of other religions
  • unity of the body of Christ

I have now become a certified Haggai leader. I am set to share the gospel to at least 1,000 people and train at least 200 leaders in two years. I cannot do this, but Christ in me can.

I ask you all to pray with me in order for me to reach this goal. I will be meeting with my representative in January for plans to minister (expand the work) here in Japan.

To God be the glory for this wonderful experience. Thank you for giving me this opportunity. I would love to echo some of these experiences to our denomination to encourage leaders and other brethren in fulfilling the Great Commandment to the Great Commission.
