OBC Grad Plants Church in Aposkahoy

Evelyn and Rey Maxilom

PHILIPPINES – Efren Miranda, Bishop of the Philippines AC Conference, oversees the Advent Christian churches in the Philippines. He recently sent us a report highlighting two church planters that have emerged from the conference. Rey Maxilom and his wife Evelyn began sensing God’s call on their life three years ago to plant a church in Aposkahoy, a hinterland barangay of Claveria, Misamis Oriental. Evelyn is an alumna of Oro Bible College and served on the board of trustees and on various committees in her local church. To initiate the plant, the Maxiloms, along with their two sons, began holding Bible studies in Aposkahoy until a solid group formed. A year later, a house church was established for Sunday worship service. Very recently, they sent word that the fellowship had grown in number and that they needed a permanent building for corporate worship.

The pastors in the Claveria Sub-district gathered funds to purchase the essential materials needed for the foundation and posts. The building process may be slow, but they trust God to provide what they need to complete it.

They also recently held their first child dedication within the fellowship of believers.
