Oro Bible College Uses LMS to Move Classes Online

PHILIPPINES – Despite significant COVID-19 related hurdles, Oro Bible College (OBC) has closed enrollment for first semester and reports 23 students participating in online classes. OBC is teaching Old Testament survey, theology classes, biblical interpretation, Hebrew grammar, Christian education, church history, homiletics, Greek and more this semester. They are working diligently to bring all courses onto their online modality.

Unfortunately, OBC is still struggling financially due to COVID-related changes. The preschool that normally generates yearly income for the college is currently closed. The college students who only take four or five courses each do not bring in substantial revenue, and the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) mandated the college to remove miscellaneous fees from the school bills in response to classes being online. All of this is affecting their budget.

Thankfully though, the Learning Management System (LMS) is working very well for them, and they have mastered the use of various modalities for teaching and learning. The staff is hoping to finish bringing all courses online by the end of second semester. Oro Bible College will soon be celebrating their 50th Foundation Day. You can follow them on Facebook to view the celebration.
