Piedmont Conference Ordains Rev. Gary Griffith
NORTH CAROLINA – On Sunday, April 14 ordination services were held for Rev. Gary Griffith at Calvary Advent Christian Church in Lenoir N.C. Rev. David Ross of Fellowship ACC gave the statement of purpose. Pastor Josh Baker of Tabernacle ACC gave the invocation. Chrissy Byerly led a hymn; Libby Harren of Calvary was the event’s pianist. Richard Waters, the youth director at Calvary, read Scripture from 1 Timothy 4:6-16. Following that, Rev. Brandon Thomas provided some special music.
The sermon was given by Rev. Jim Lee, associate pastor at Calvary ACC. Scripture came from John 13:1-16. After Rev. Jim Lee finished his sermon, Bryan Greer, a deacon at Calvary, provided some more special music. Rev. Travis Hutcheson, pastor of Shiloh ACC, preformed the ordination vows for Darlene and Gary Griffith. Rev David Blythe of Beaver Creek ACC led the ordaining prayer and the laying on of hands, at which time all of the pastors in attendance joined in. Rev. Daniel McGee gave the right hand of fellowship, and Rev. Norm Sherwood, pastor of Confidence ACC, gave the charge to the candidate. Rev John Roller of First Advent CC, Hickory, gave the charge to the people. Chrissy Byerly led the closing hymn and then Rev. Gary Griffith gave the benediction.
