Reading Program Launching

One of the greatest things that God has given to mankind is the ability to touch another’s heart. To live with that in the best way possible, is to make an impact by having a touch of the FUTURE. Through Agape House Ministries of Pujada Incorporated (AHMPI) in partnership with Christian Academy in Davao Oriental Technological Colleges, Incorporated(CANDORTCI) a new “READING PROGRAM” was launched. This program aims to teach children to become good readers who not only grasp knowledge, but also value learning and appreciate the world through reading. This program encourages children to be empowered to limitless imaginations, and most importantly to be equipped with wisdom essential to their own foundation. The program wouldn’t come to life without the initiative of the people behind this. Everyone has the potential to influence, but it’s always notable with people who have the “HEART” in doing so. It is with a happy heart we bring joy and support to the younger generations. We also aimed this as an evangelistic tool to reach out to their parents.
The first area that this was launched was in Maitum, Dahican, Mati. This is one of the Sunday School Extension sites of AHMPI. The volunteer CANDOR teachers and AHMPI staff gathered the children in Pastor Garay’s church (our partner pastor), and they conducted the reading program for two Saturdays (January 27 and February 3). It was a joy to see how the kids progressed in just two meetings with their passionate and patient teachers around. The 18 kids were also given some free snacks and volunteer teachers with free lunches as well. We are looking forward in doing more! Glory to God!
