Redemption Community Church Gaining Traction
Redemption pastor Daniel Karl writes:
NORTH CAROLINA – It’s hard to believe we’re already heading into our 10th Sunday since the launch of Redemption. The Lord has been so faithful to us, and it’s been so neat to have an up front seat to what God is doing here. I’ve honestly been blown away by the response so far – I did not expect things to go as they have. Two weeks ago was the largest gathering we’ve had since our launch (94 people). We have yet to have a Sunday where we haven’t seen new faces who are visiting the church. It’s been exciting to see people start to cement themselves either through tithing, service, Bible Study, etc., and see Redemption as their new home church. I’ve also found it refreshing to hear from people the kind of things they’re looking for in a church.
In way of other programs, we’ve started a Wednesday night Connect and Bible study that meets every other Wednesday (we had our largest gathering of 32 tonight), and we’ve kicked off Redemption Students that meets on opposite Wednesdays (we had 12 last gathering). We have a weekly newsletter that I write that helps keep people in the loop, and we remain active on social media. We’ve also made it a point to be present at town events happening in Clayton and Cleveland, and we recently connected with hundreds of people at Clayton, NC’s Harvest Festival in downtown Clayton. Lastly, we have some neat opportunities in front of us to leverage our space for the community during the week.
Though there have been and will continue to be bumps along the way, it is such an exciting time at Redemption. Just this week, we held our first “New to Redemption” class and had seven families attend. There’s a fresh spirit of anticipation and excitement as we see things progress, and we give all the glory to the Lord. He’s brought this work together in a way only he can. We’re just trying to remain faithful and hold on for the ride.
