Songs of Praise Follow Newly Dug Well

MOZAMBIQUE – Water was promised to Nguni village, but the ground was too hard and the water table too low to drill a simple bore hole. Without costly hydraulics a well could not be drilled. Faced with a difficult decision, the council of the Maranatha AC Conference in Mozambique opted for Plan B, that was to drill a well instead in Chituyi village which similarly has been without water, forcing its inhabitants to walk long distances to get water. On October 14 no small amount of rejoicing took place as the villagers witnessed life-sustaining water being drawn out of the earth.

They clapped and sang the words (translated from Chichewa):

“Our lives are in the hands of Mighty God.
He is the One who cares us.”

The temporary crank will soon be replaced with a more permanent fixture. Thanks goes out to the Lord who opened the hearts of donors in the Advent Christian General Conference of America.
