South Eliot Surpasses Penny Crusade Goal

SOUTH ELIOT, ME -The Advent Christian Church of South Eliot, Maine would like to thank everyone that joined them in prayer during their Penny Crusade. God did amazing things! When the final total was given, this small but dedicated group raised $3,147.16! Then women collected $1,557.70 and the men raised $1,589.46. The men won the competition by only $31.76. We went over the $2,021 goal by $1,126.16!

Another point of interest for other churches might be the gifts that our presenters, Leslie Middleton and De Davis gave out each week.

Week One – Night Light. Pastor Nayak has a burden for the orphans of the Banjara people group. We all know these little ones like to have a night light.

Week Two – Seeds. A reminder that churches need to be planted among the Burmese.

Week Three – Corn Meal with Small Bottle of Water. These items represent one of the ways the Hadzabe people are reached.

Week Four – Small Bag of M&Ms. Mixed colors, but one color being only two percent of the whole to show us the percentage of Christians among the Isan people. Someone else the M on the M&M can remind us of Missions.

Week Five – Fan. We need to fan the flame with prayers so more of these home churches spread.

Week Six – Small Flashlight. The people of West Malaysia have a fear of spirits, and we need to shine the gospel light to drive away the darkness and fear.
