Spiritual Attack in Tanzania Brings Many to Know Christ

Amos Komanya

The following story Area Director Bryce Whiting heard on June 18 from Pastors Amos Komanya and Johnson Odoyo. He will seek further clarity, but the details thus far are simply astounding.

TANZANIA – the events described in the following article took place on Thursday, June 9, 2022. They were first relayed to me one week later on Thursday night, June 15, 2022, while in Kenya with Pastors Amos and Johnson at a convention.

A joint convention of the Kenyan pastors and the pastors from the Tanzania Advent Christian Conference was held in Ogembo, Kisii Region, Kenya for the dates of June 13-16. The Tanzania Conference took this event very seriously and called for three days of fasting and prayer in preparation for the upcoming conference. During the day, there were in pastor Amos’s church -nearly 90 people who met for prayer. By night, there were nine. These nine stayed in the church through the night in prayer. Pastor Amos Komanya was among those at prayer Thursday night in the village of Masanza when suddenly at night he was thrown to the floor under a vicious spiritual attack. Amos was in a paralyzed state, able to see with his eyes and understand with his mind but every limb in his body was frozen. Even his mouth was unable to form words as the attack continued. According to his testimony, Amos was aware of the presence of three witches outside the church, yet no one else could see them.

As best as I can ascertain, Pastor Amos felt his life draining from him when the church came to his rescue, interceding both in person and with their prayers. He could not communicate the type of attack he was under, but their prayers were effective enough. By 4:00 AM, the spell was broken and life flowed back into his limbs. His speech also returned to him and he joined his church members in vocal prayer. At 5:00 AM, other members of the coven and their family members came in tears and repentance to Pastor Amos, “We are sorry, we are sorry!” they wailed. “We do not want to die too!” The story was then told by the other witches that at 4:00 AM the three witches had suddenly and inexplicably DIED! Those who were pleading for their lives had been made aware of the plans of the three, and lived to see the deadly end result.

Pastor Amos called his dear friend Johnson Odoyo early in the morning. Johnson hastened to his aid immediately and together they trained the church in the matters of spiritual warfare. They continued in prayer, handing the powers of Hell a fierce beating. Many people heard of the death of the witches from the formerly powerful coven, and came to the village to get a first-hand account. Seizing the opportunity, the pastors of the Advent Conference held an open-air meeting and many came to the Lord.

There is much more to this story for me to pursue, for the effects of this power-encounter and God’s great victory are still drawing people to the Lord. The sincerity of the repentant witches and family members will need to be monitored. Over the weekend, the story spread to regions far beyond the village, and the Lord is adding to their number such as should be saved.

To be continued as more details are received.
