Sunshine AC Church Far Exceeds Penny Crusade Goal

DEER ISLE, MAINE – Sunshine Advent Christian Church held its 2020 Penny Crusade for five weeks, September 6 – October 4. We used our own theme, “Tell Me the Story of Jesus.” Deacon Dan Lane designed and created a “church building,” which had five windows to help tell the story of Jesus: creation, Old Testament, first advent – birth of Christ, crucifixion and resurrection, and second advent – his return. Each week, Dan spoke on a window topic and placed “people” in the church pews to show the amount of funds raised for Penny Crusade (each person represented $250). Our goal was $7,000.00. By week four, Dan had added two more pews, and with week five, chairs were added to accommodate the number of people, because we had exceeded our goal! After five weeks of collections, $8,464.35 was raised for Advent Christian International Missions, and we give God all the glory!  In a time that has been so difficult for so many, we are humbled and blessed to have been able to raise these funds to help our fellow brothers and sisters serve the Lord and share the gospel all over the world for his kingdom’s glory. “And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2:47b).
