Sunshine ACC Exceeds Penny Crusade Goal

MAINE – Our 2021 Penny Crusade is now history, and God did something amazing through the Sunshine Advent Christian Church. With a goal of $8,500 for this year’s four-week crusade, we had collected $5,632.15 through our first three weeks. That was a little below where we wanted to be, but certainly understandable since we had just completed a very successful fundraising campaign to install a new kitchen hood and fire suppression system in our Fellowship Center. We wanted to do our best for world missions, and we were determined to do just that.

Going into week four, we needed to have an offering of $2,867.85 to reach our $8,500 goal. Knowing that would be a challenge, we also recognized that everything we collected would help Advent Christian World Missions share the light of the gospel with unreached people groups around the world. As we tracked our progress during the Penny Crusade, paper dolls creatively decorated by members of the congregation were placed on our goal board crafted by Dan Lane. Each doll represented $500.00 and a light was illuminated when the full $500 was received. The excitement was high as people entered the worship center on October 3rd and saw 20 full size paper dolls and one little doll. When Deacon Dan Lane turned on the lights, we discovered we had raised $10,272.76 to help share the light of the gospel!

Many thanks to Dan and Beth Lane for their leadership in this year’s Penny Crusade, to all who gave sacrificially towards our goal and glory to God for his gracious provision. We look forward to hearing about how God moves to build his church around the world in the months to come.
