Sylvia Williams DuPriest

Sylvia entered Eternal Rest at 7:15pm on February 14, 2022 after a long and valiant struggle with Dementia/Alzheimer’s and has rejoined her previous departed husband of (37) years, Robert Harrison DuPriest, Sr.

Sylvia was born on December 9, 1935 in Union County, Florida. She received her High school Diploma from Lake City High School of Lake City, Florida in 1953. She married Papa on 23 March, 1957. After moving many, many times from south to north, north to south – they finally settled down in Lake City, Florida in the early 1990’s.

Sylvia was a loving and caring mother and nana to all children. Her faith in Jesus Christ was enormous and noticeable by all that met her. She was a kindergarten teacher at the First Advent Christian Church in Lake City, Florida in the late 1960s/early 1970s. She always had a smile on her face and friendly to all – to include complete strangers. A positive role model for everyone that knew or met her.

A viewing will be at 7-9pm on March 18, 2022 at Guerry Funeral Home – 2659 SW Main Blvd, Lake City, FL 32025 (386) 752-2414. Funeral service will be at 11am on 19 March at Guerry Funeral Home. Burial services will be at the Memorial Cemetery of Lake City, NW Lake Jeffery Rd., Lake City FL immediately following the service, both led by Zach Douglas – a dear family member. Everyone is invited to 417 NW Hillsboro Street, Lake city, Florida 32055 after the burial to Celebrate the Life of Sylvia W. DuPriest.
