TANZANIA – “How can we not share so great a salvation?” I called pastor Johnson Odoyo on July 1st at 3:00 PM (Tanzania time). I could not reach him but did get a text, “Praise God! Thank you so much for your prayers and greetings. We are in a prayer meeting till tomorrow evening. I’m sorry l won’t get a chance to communicate. Your prayers are still important to us. Be blessed!”

All day?! The pastors met to pray through the night and the following day until evening. God loves times like this when we are seeking his heart and his voice. Not all of the details were filled in for me, but it came as no surprise when the pastors joined together to sing, dance and preach in the open-air market place. This time they refocused their attention on the village of Ilalila. Twelve converts were added to previous numbers and there a church was established. The question arose as to who their pastor would be. Burugu Luziri had served as church elder for five years under President Amos Komanya. The brothers agreed together in prayer that God desired for Burugu Luziri to be released to pastor this flock in its infancy.

Lift this young church and pastor to the Lord in prayer.
