United Ministries (UM) is a program of financial management that enables a distribution of funds to support the various ministries of the Advent Christian General Conference and its member regions. This program has been in effect for many years. Though it has been administered in different ways throughout its life, the following is the current method of distribution:
Funding for UM comes from undesignated gifts/tithes from churches. This includes checks with no markings, or with labels such as undesignated, general fund, apportionment or UM.
Gifts designated for a specific purpose or mission field or Penny Crusade are not counted toward UM. For 2024 the total United Ministries budget is $667,000. This includes tithes sent directly to a regional office.
Funds from churches are split with the region from which they originate:
Appalachian Region 51% Central Region 75% Eastern Region 50% Southern Region 49% Western Region 68%
United Ministries giving comprises 37% of the total ACGC operating income, so participation by all our churches is vital. Without these funds we would have to shut down many of our existing mission fields and ministries.
Thank you for considering ACGC in your church’s annual budget for tithes. Use this card to help your lay leaders and church members understand the value of UM.
