Eleanor S. Bowden, 95, of Kittery, passed away on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at The Meetinghouse Village in Kittery.
She was born on May 16, 1921 in Eliot, Maine, a daughter of Robert and Stella (Spinney) Staples. Eleanor was a graduate of Berkshire Christian College.
Eleanor was formerly employed as a teacher for the Lee Massachusetts School System; the Rowley Massachusetts School System and had was also employed for the Alton Bay Christian Conference Center with her husband, Rev. Raymond Bowden, when he served as director.
Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Rev. Raymond W. Bowden, in 1996.
Survivors include three sons, Robert and his wife, Sandra of Chatham, Mass; David and his wife, Sandra of The Villages, Fla; and Steven and his wife, Dale of Eliot; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson; and one niece, Helen Sullivan of Eliot.
Services: A memorial service will be held at Meeting House Village Chapel on Thursday February 16, 2017.
