Jaime Charles Jensen

JAIME CHARLES “JACE” JENSEN, 51, of Prophetstown, IL, died Sunday, December 10, 2023 at Winning Wheels of Prophetstown, after a long illness.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Advent Christian Church in Prophetstown. A visitation will precede the service starting at 9:00 a.m. The Bosma-Gibson Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Prophetstown. A memorial has been established to Winning Wheels in Prophetstown.

Jace was born March 14, 1972 in Cagayan de Oro, Philippines. His parents are James and Sherry (Burtt) Jensen. He was a 1990 graduate of Prophetstown High School and later received his Bachelor’s in graphic arts from Judson University in Elgin, IL. On November 30, 2002 he married Joyous Sunshine Peake in Park Ridge, IL. Interestingly, Jaime had worked in maintenance at Winning Wheels during his High School years. He later worked in computer graphics, in sales, as a driver training instructor, and most recently as a full-time substitute teacher and assistant girls track coach for South Elgin Schools. He was an accomplished drummer, touring the country as part of the Christian Alternative band Code of Ethics, and playing in church worship teams and pit bands. His hobbies included drawing cartoon characters and working as a deejay. He loved watching cooking shows and eating at Asian buffets, especially sushi. He loved to give and help people, and was known as someone to come to for prayer.

Survivors include his parents, Pastor Jim and Sherry Jensen; his wife, Sunshine, and three children, Deacon, Maxwell and Seonna, all of Mundelein, IL; two sisters, Kimberly (Tim) Cook of Hebron, KY and Kerry (Ryan) Cox of Fox River Grove, IL; one brother, Todd (Connie) Jensen of Prophetstown; twelve nieces and nephews; his paternal grandmother, JoAnne Rohm of Bettendorf, IA; many aunts and uncles.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Owen and Barbara Burtt, and his paternal grandfather, M.Sgt. James Jensen, and his paternal step-grandfather, Virtus Rohm.
