A New Mission Field in Myanmar

Catherine Rybicki

A new door for gospel ministry is opening in Myanmar.

By God’s grace, Advent Christian ministry partners there are preparing to begin work in a new mission field in 2026. To start the ministry, Pastor K and other believers built a small bamboo house measuring only 10 by 20 feet. This simple structure will serve as both a home for the missionary family and the gathering place for worship.

Brother J and his family will lead this new effort by moving to the area to serve the community. They plan to open their home for prayer, fellowship and Sunday worship.

The bamboo house provides a place to begin, though it is small for gatherings and will only last a couple of years. The long-term plan is to build a larger wooden structure, about 18 by 30 feet, to better accommodate worship services and fellowship as the ministry grows.

For now, this new mission field begins with a committed missionary family, a small bamboo house and a desire to share the gospel. This weekend, the women’s group from Pastor K’s church will hold a prayer time at Brother J’s new home. Please pray for Brother J and his family as they begin this new ministry and for God’s provision as the seeds of the gospel take root.
