Rowena Cabrizos, Agape House Worldwide

April and May are busy months for Agape House volunteers and staff! Agape House Mati led Vacation Bible School in several areas. On April 19, staff were led in VBS training; fliers and invitations were distributed the next day.

The first week of Vacation Bible School was held on April 21–25 in the following areas: Mapantad, Magapo, Malinawon and Maitum. The theme for this Vacation Bible School was “JOURNEY: Discovering God’s Miracles Along the Way.” The volunteers and staff were blessed to have served about 260 children in these four areas. The children received cookies and biscuits for their daily snacks and a full meal during the final “graduation” day. On April 28–30, Vacation Bible School was held in the Tagawisan area, serving about 40 children.

We thank the Lord for his provision of fine weather, financial needs and for the volunteers! We pray that the Word of God planted in these children will grow and will cause them to desire more of Jesus.

Additionally, we were privileged to have a 23-year-old Japanese man and fellow Christian who stayed with us in Mati for a month. He was able to help as a volunteer during this Vacation Bible School. He was so happy to serve the children and found himself blessed after seeing so many needy families in the areas where Agape House Mati was serving.
