On April 5, 2025, high school and college-aged Christians from across the App Region gathered for a day of evangelism training and fellowship. Teachers Jack Mumford, Jason Simpson and Jeff Walsh challenged and equipped the group to grasp the gospel clearly, understand their cultural context and grow in love for the lost. After each lesson, participants broke into labs — small group discussions designed to help them apply what they learned in practical, personal ways. Alongside the lessons and labs, the group enjoyed meals, games and time together.
This event was part of an intentional effort to raise up the region’s next generation of pastors, church planters, missionaries and lay leaders. Plans are underway for the next young adult event — the Young Adult Retreat, happening October 24–26 in Blowing Rock, N.C. — where they’ll continue investing in these future leaders of the church. This retreat will focus on issues related to holiness and how to engage with culture.
