Arco Paul Sharp Jr., 72, of Big Chimney fell asleep in Christ Monday October 20, 2025.
Born in Gassaway, WV to Arco Sr. and Hazel Sharp the family would later move to Big Chimney, where Arco met his wife Beverly Stanley Sharp. In their 54 years together Arco and Beverly would share their lives with six children, 24 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
Arco served in the Army Reserves for 6 years. He had a career in Natural Gas where he would later retire as a Production Supervisor for Chesapeake Energy. Arco served as pastor for many years in the Advent Christian Church, most recently serving at the Cooper’s Creek Advent Christian Church. Arco was a man who treasured time spent in the Lord’s word. A humble man whose quiet presence will be sorely missed by those who shared time with him.
Arco is preceded in death by his father, Arco Sharp, his sister Brenda Kay Parsons, his granddaughter Madilyn Sharp, father-in-law, Billy Stanley, and brother-in-laws, John Kendall and David Stanley.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years Beverly Stanley Sharp; son Bill (Tracy) Sharp, son Jason Sharp, daughter Christie (Jeff) Tawney, daughter Emily (Jeremy) Hill, son Travis (Juliette) Sharp, son Troy (Heather) Sharp, 23 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren; his mother Hazel Rollyson Sharp, four sisters Sharron, Rose, Rebecca, and Peggy along with many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
There will be a private family service at a later date.
