Marion C. Ballard
NORTH SPRINGFIELD – Marion C. Ballard, 92, died Sunday, Jan. 4, 2015, at Genesis Health Care Center in Lebanon, N.H.
She was born Feb. 7, 1922, in North Springfield, the daughter of Willard N. and Verna M. (Graham) Clark. She attended schools in North Springfield and graduated as valedictorian of Springfield High School in 1940. She later graduated from the University of New Hampshire.
On Feb. 6, 1943, she married Arthur R. Ballard in North Springfield. He predeceased her on Feb. 5, 2012.
Mrs. Ballard was a lifelong resident of North Springfield. She was an active member of the Advent Christian Church in North Springfield, teaching Sunday school and serving as church organist and church treasurer for many years.
For 30-plus years, she operated the North Village Kindergarten and Nursery School in North Springfield, retiring in 1986. After her retirement, she volunteered for 20-plus years at elementary schools in Springfield.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda B. Streeter of Snowflake, Ariz.; grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother, Grahame Clark.
Friends may call at Davis Memorial Chapel in Springfield from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 11, 2015.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday Jan. 12, 2015, at the Advent Christian Church in North Springfield. The Rev. Floyd McIntyre will officiate.
Burial will follow at Pine Grove Cemetery in North Springfield.
