On Saturday, March 29th, the Maranatha Advent Christian Conference held the ordination service for David Alan Young, Jr. David and his wife Anne, along with their sons Caleb and Colin, reside in North Springfield, VT, and attend Calvary Baptist Church of Springfield, VT, which hosted the service and the reception afterward. Many family and friends of the Youngs were able to attend. Rev. Malcolm Fowler, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church, at the outset of the service, stressed that all were present to offer worship to the triune God as David was ordained into the ministry of the New Covenant and the gospel of Jesus Christ.
David was the pastor of the North Springfield Advent Christian Church and faithfully cared for the church body as they wrestled with the decision to close in late 2023. He has pastored two other Advent Christian churches. Presently, he is employed as the Emergency Management Coordinator for two hospitals affiliated with the Dartmouth Health Network. He is also soon to be the chaplain for the Catamount Composite Squadron of the Vermont Civil Air Patrol. David desires to resume pastoral ministry as the Lord opens those doors.
Participating in the service were Rev. Malcolm Fowler, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church; Rev. Frank Jewett, who offered the ordination prayer; and Rev. Clayton Blackstone, who gave the charge to the candidate. Also participating were Rev. Kent Davis, who presented the right hand of fellowship, and Rev. Lou Going, who delivered the ordination sermon.
