Long’s Grove Advent Christian Church in Monroe, NC, celebrated its 97th homecoming service on March 30, 2025, with more than 60 people gathering to reflect on God’s faithfulness through nearly a century of ministry. The service was a testament to the enduring impact of this small, rural congregation, as two former members who later became Advent Christian pastors shared messages on the significance of everyday faithfulness. They spoke of how a committed few can make a lasting difference in God’s kingdom, encouraging those in attendance to continue the work of ministry, no matter the size of the church.
Following the service, attendees lingered to reminisce over photographs from the past, exchanging stories of God’s provision and the relationships formed within the church’s walls. The spirit of fellowship continued as the congregation shared a meal together, strengthening the bonds that have sustained Long’s Grove through generations. The day served as both a celebration of the church’s rich history and a reminder of the ongoing work God is doing through this faithful community.

I’m very grateful for Long’s Grove and its support and discipleship of its members as my pastor, Heath Simpson, grew up in that church and is now an incredible leader of the Mechanicsville, VA church.
