NORTH CAROLINA – An ordination service was held Sunday, May 18, 2025, at Tabernacle Advent Christian Church in Lenoir, North Carolina, for the Rev. Josh Baker.
The Rev. Jim Lee welcomed everyone and offered the statement of purpose. Josiah Baker, Rev. Baker’s oldest son, read Ephesians 4:7–13. The Rev. Matt Broadway, Appalachian regional superintendent, preached the ordination sermon.

The ordination vows were administered by Piedmont Conference ministerial chair the Rev. Travis Hutcheson, who also led the ordination prayer and laying on of hands. ACGC leadership development director the Rev. Mike Alix, who was Rev. Baker’s pastor prior to his call to Tabernacle, gave the charge to the candidate. ACGC executive director Justin Nash offered the charge to the congregation and Rev. Baker gave the closing prayer of benediction.
The church hosted a reception immediately following the service to honor Rev. Baker. It was a meaningful time of food, fellowship and celebration, marking a significant moment in the life and ministries of Rev. Baker and Tabernacle.
