PHILIPPINES – September 19–20, 2025, OBC Campus, Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City
Oro Bible College’s 2025 Foundation Day opened with reverence and enthusiasm as first year student Amallah Grace Flores led the singing of the Philippine National Anthem, followed by a heartfelt opening prayer from Ptr. Billy M. Comahig.
Ptr. Jess P. Gawangon, OBC President, then gave the statement of purpose and welcome address, drawing from the theme “Expand as One” (Isaiah 54:2–3). He reminded the community that Foundation Day is not only a look back at God’s faithfulness but a declaration of faith for the future. Unity, he emphasized, is essential if OBC is to fulfill its calling and expand its impact for God’s glory.
The morning featured joyful presentations from Basic Education students, (nursery through grade four), bringing delight to parents and faculty. OBC college students followed with musical and creative performances, reflecting the school’s commitment to holistic growth. The day continued with friendly sports and games that strengthened camaraderie across the OBC family.

In the afternoon, a Singspiration lifted hearts in worship, followed by OBC updates from Ptr. Gawangon, who shared encouraging developments and future plans. During the Right Hand Fellowship, Alumni President Mer Sudaria Lipanta welcomed new graduates into the alumni fold. The Unity Games, including “Decorate My Pancake,” “Rope of Unity” and “Building a Tower,” brought laughter and teamwork to life.

That evening, Rev. Jonathan Navacilla delivered a stirring message on “Expand as One,” calling the OBC community to embrace enlarged vision, established foundations and active Kingdom expansion. “At OBC,” he said, “we dream bigger than our classrooms and programs. .. We see what God sees — future pastors, missionaries and leaders shaping the nations.”
The celebration concluded with CABBAGE TALK, a lively Q&A with alumni sharing stories of perseverance and faith. More than a commemoration, OBC Foundation Day 2025 stood as a testament of unity and vision — a declaration that the best days of Oro Bible College are still ahead.
