TANZANIA – Recently, a young lady came forward to receive prayer at an open-air evangelistic event. Little did she know that she would soon experience the freeing power of Jesus Christ. As was once reported, a demon threw her to the ground, and she began to roll over uncontrollably. Faithful prayer warriors gathered around her and in the name of Jesus she was set free. She then was led in a prayer of repentance as she offered her life to the Lord Jesus.
The following Sunday she went to the local church pastored by Festus Tungaraza but was a bit too embarrassed to sit with the others, so she remained outside and listened from a safe distance. Soon however, the warmth of God’s family overcame her shyness, and she asked for prayer. She was heavy with child and dangerously overdue. Once again, warm hands of faith-filled prayer warriors were placed upon her head and soon afterward she gave birth to TWINS! A boy and a girl.
In Tanzania, the traditional belief is that when twins are born, they will bring great trouble to the community. One of the babies is a human while the other is an evil spirit. If that evil spirit continues to live, it will bring destruction to the entire tribe. Witch doctors will therefore actively attempt to kill the baby, using spells, curses and even more direct approaches. Thankfully, these babies and the mother are now part of a new family that is under the protection of the Most High God who gives a promise, “No weapon raised up against you shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).
