February 8th, 2026 was an unforgettable day for pastors Yesaya Manduwa and Samuel Kasakatira in Mozambique. The two set out to encourage believers in Semu village, a remote mountain community accessible only by rough and difficult roads.
They left home at 8:00 a.m. on motorbikes and met in Villanova village to determine how best to make the climb. When they realized one bike had poor brakes, they left it behind and continued on the stronger one.
Pastor Samuel writes, “It took us 3-and-half hours to reach Semu village. Upon arrival [to] the village… we enjoyed a warm welcome from the villagers. We took our own water from home, but we were persuaded to use theirs from the mountain. The water was good and tasty. We really enjoyed it.
After resting for some minutes in order to cool ourselves, we started the service. At this time … we saw that we were not alone, but the Holy Spirit was among us. The energetic songs from three youth groups that performed [during] the service made the congregation think that this world is not our home and Jesus is coming soon.”

The greatest moment of the day came when two elderly men (or, “male grannies,” as Samuel calls them) gave their lives to Jesus. One of the men said, “We are going now, so we need Jesus.” Samuel writes, “They didn’t know Jesus during their childhood, but today they received Jesus as the Lord of their lives.”
Before returning home, the villagers even gave the pastors a small gift of fuel money. Reflecting on the day, Pastor Samuel simply says, “God is good all the time!”
