WACA Holds Triennial Convention

Justin Nash, Executive Director

CALIFORNIA – October 1-4 the Western Advent Christian Association (WACA) held its triennial convention at beautiful Camp Maranatha in the San Jacinto mountains of Southern California. Camp director Brian Reeves and his staff did an outstanding job hosting the approximately two dozen conference participants. The regional board met Wednesday night and Thursday morning. The opening service Thursday night was a celebration of the life of former WACA superintendent Rick Qualls, who died unexpectedly earlier this year. Rev. Schad and Lisa Russell led worship and multiple people offered memories and reflections on Rick, who he was as a person and the significant contributions he made as he served the pastors and churches of the WACA. Rick’s wife, Verna, was able to be there and she closed the service with some personal reflections.
