We warmly welcome Pastor Jesse Barnett and his wife, Penny, whose first Sunday in the pulpit at New Albany Advent Christian Church was Easter Sunday. Jesse and Penny are from Corydon, Indiana, and have three children. Jesse serves as a teacher in Jefferson County Public Schools in Kentucky, and Penny is a nurse. Together, they bring more than 25 years of ministry experience, having faithfully served in a variety of church staff roles.
Jesse and Penny recently completed their Converge assessment and were introduced to the New Albany community in late March. They are excited about the opportunity to lead a replant in New Albany, with a tentative launch planned for this fall.
To support this new work, a provisional elder board has been established, consisting of Gordon Nettle (current New Albany board chair), Ron Thomas (retired executive director of ACGC), Jeff Eason (pastor of Villisca Advent Christian Church) and Adrian Dixon (ACGC church planting coordinator).
We are deeply grateful for God’s call on Jesse and Penny, for the heart for mission and ministry within New Albany Advent Christian Church as they prepare to replant and for the lasting impact this new church will have in the New Albany community.
