Fort Fairfield – Kenneth R. Twitchell, 72, husband of Mary (Levigne) Twitchell, passed away unexpectedly Friday morning, June 26, 2015 at a Presque Isle healthcare facility. He was born May 24, 1943 in Norway, ME, the son of Oscar O. and Alice I. (Pratt) Twitchell.

He was a graduate of the Oxford High School Class of 1961 and served in the United States Army. He and Mary owned and operated Pittston Farms, for a number of years and also owned Mike and Maude’s Restaurant in Fort Fairfield.

He was predeceased by his father and is survived by his mother, Alice Twitchell of Norway, ME; his wife, Mary Twitchell, of Fort Fairfield; two sons, Rev. Greg Twitchell and his wife, Missie, of Rochester, NH; Ben Twitchell of Oxford; one stepson, Dana Matthews and his wife, Mar,y of South Paris; one stepdaughter, Melissa Smith and her husband, Glen, of Albion; one sister, Miriam Wigsby and her husband, Raymond, of Union, WV; twelve grandchildren; two great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

A service to Celebrate Kenneth’s Life with military honors will be held Sunday, July 5, 2015 at 12:00 noon at the Twitchell Farm, 204 Old East Road, Fort Fairfield with Marty Thompson officiating, followed by a time of continued fellowship with refreshments. Those who wish may contribute in memory of Mr. Twitchell to the New England Organ Bank, 60 1st Avenue, Waltham, MA 02451 or the charity or organization of one’s choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main Street, Fort Fairfield.
