Rev. Floyd W. Powers, 93 of Vernon, Vt. is asleep in Jesus, waiting that Trumpet Call.

He died Wednesday evening, (9-15-2021) at his home. He was born on Oct. 8, 1927 in Montpelier, Vt. the son of Harold and Ruby (Sweetser) Powers. He married the former Musa Ellis in Kobe, Japan on Dec. 17, 1954. Floyd was a minister with the Advent Christian Church. He and his wife served as Missionaries in Japan from 1950-2002. After retirement they lived in Alfred, ME, and in 2007, moved to Vernon Advent Christian Home in Vernon, Vt. Musa may be reached at 13 Greenway Drive Unit 122, Vernon, Vt. 05354.

Along with his wife, Musa, of 66 years, he is survived by his daughters; Carolyn Hollands in Japan, Ellen Yamase in Japan, and Rebecca Yoshida in California, ten grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister: Allison Whittier of South Carolina, and two cousins, William Chesley of Maine and Carolyn Watts, of Texas.

A memorial service will be held at a later date, at a time to be announced.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be sent to “Vernon Advent Christian Homes” at 61 Greenway Drive, Vernon, VT 05354.
