Rev. Roy Lee Runion
REV. ROY LEE RUNION of Joe’s Creek, Comfort, WV passed Oct 17, 2021. He was born June 15, 1938 at Seth, WV. The son of belated John B. Runion and Minnie Dotson Runion.
He was a retired miner and a member of UMWA for 20 years. He was the Pastor of White Oak Advent Log Church of Artie, WV for 33 years. Roy was an avid woodsman, hunter, fisherman, and spent hours about telling his life adventures. Roy loved spending time with children and making them smile.
Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Howell Runion; sisters, Hattie Williams and Linda Green; brothers, Joe, Charles, Wesley, Ernest, Cecil, Olee Runion.
Surviving brother, Clayborne Runion (Martha); step-children, Margie Withrow, Donna Howell, Darrell Junior, Larry Howell, Terry Howell; special recognition: Kermit, Randy Runion, and Charles Halstead. Several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon October 23, 2021 at 1 p.m., at the Armstrong Funeral Home, Whitesville, WV with Ministers, Sister Joy Nelson and Larry Nelson. Visitation was two hours before the service. Burial followed in the Pineview Cemetery, Orgas, WV.
