A missionary is someone sent to people of another culture for the primary purpose of making disciples of Jesus. As Jesus the Son of God took on humanity to dwell with us (John 1:14), so missionaries communicate the gospel in word and deed within the cultural context of the other culture. The goal of the missionary is to see individuals and churches whole-heartedly following Jesus in ways that make sense within their own culture.

Advent Christians have been making disciples internationally for more than 150 years. Currently we have mission works and partnerships in more than 30 countries.
The Process
After you fill out the Interest Form, someone from the AC International Missions Department will contact you to set up a phone or video conversation. We will ask and answer questions and make initial determinations about the next steps toward missionary service. The process is then to fill out a full application with references. The full application contains questions about educational background, work history, local church ministry involvement, personal walk with the Lord, doctrinal understanding and missionary readiness. After that, you can explore options such as an internship, theological/ministry training, a visit to a field of interest or a combination of these things.
