PHILIPPINES – We thank the Lord for his perfect guidance and provision throughout our trip to Agape Houses in San Carlos and Guihulngan. Truthfully, I almost didn’t make it to Negros Island with Erwin due to lingering health challenges from my previous visit to Claveria. But God is faithful! Just a day before our flight, we managed to get to Davao City to finalize preparations for the journey.
The next morning, we made our way to Agape House Guihulngan, about an hour from San Carlos. After a worship service and lunch with our brothers and sisters there, we visited a piece of land that could potentially be the site of a future church building. How amazing is our God! The property owner is also a believer, and we had fruitful discussions about the possibility of acquiring the land. Please join us in praying for God’s provision to make this vision a reality.
That same afternoon, we returned to San Carlos to hold a children’s Bible study, a feeding program and a gift-giving event. It was such a privilege to witness the joy and excitement of the children as we shared God’s love in practical ways. Our hearts were full of gratitude for everything God accomplished that day.
On Sunday morning, we gathered for worship again, with Erwin leading us into God’s presence through praise and worship and me sharing his Word with the congregation. After the service, it was time to make our way back to Cebu, but our hearts were so full that we wished we could have stayed longer.
The entire trip was a humbling reminder of how God is moving powerfully in his church. Both Agape House San Carlos and Guihulngan are vibrant, worshiping churches. Lives are being transformed, disciples are being raised and the gospel is boldly proclaimed to the lost. We are so blessed to have been part of what God is doing in these communities, even for a short time.
