Aurora University Chorale Performs at Prophetstown ACC

ILLINOIS – The Aurora University Chorale performed a one-hour concert under the directorship of Ms. Lisa Friedenburg, for the community of Prophetstown on the evening of February 27 at the Prophetstown Advent Christian Church. About 60 or 70 people from the community attended. The chorale group was amazing, performing about 10 pieces.

Prophetstown ACC has a long-standing connection with Aurora College that goes back to the 1960s when Aurora was a seminary; the church is so grateful for their continued presence in their midst. The church’s women’s group provided meals for the students after the concert, and guests visited with them all in the community room. The church hopes to host them again in the future.

  1. Aurora University dates to 1893 when the Advent Christian Publications Society founded Mendota (Ill.) Seminary. It became Aurora College when the school relocated to Aurora in 1912. The college became Aurora University in 1985. Aurora College wasn’t a seminary in “…the 1960s…”
