On March 25th, Rowena Cabrizos and her daughter Rackie traveled back to Mati in the Philippines, meeting up with Erwin and the rest of their family. They were joined by a Japanese friend and her son who do not yet know Christ, but wanted to see the Philippines and Agape House Ministries.
While there, the group visited CANDORTCI, an Agape House-led vocational school, where they participated in festivities, worship services and even a Sunday School feeding program. CANDORTCI is the school that Erwin’s father started around 20 years ago and now offers job skill training with a biblical worldview to around 100 students.
The new friends visited with elementary school students, even teaching the young children origami, the Japanese art of folding paper into decorative shapes like animals, birds or other geometrical shapes. The children loved spending time with them and learning this new skill. The elementary students made origami rabbits out of the small squares of origami paper, and proudly showed them off to teachers and staff.

Later that night, they attended the kindergarten and elementary banquet night and awards ceremony where students received awards for academics, character and enhancement. Then the students performed special presentations for their family and friends.

The Cabrizos’ and their friends also participated in a Sunday School extension feeding program where they helped distribute food to those in need and spent time with many of the children.

Thankfully, the woman and her son were also able to take part in the AHMPI worship service. Rowena said that they “prayed that all throughout their stay…[that] they would sense God’s move in them.” After the worship service, they spent more time with the Cabrizos family by releasing baby turtles in the Pacific Ocean. Agape House Ministries partners with an organization that assists with protecting these creatures and caring for the environment.

Rowena asks us to pray that her Japanese friends reflect on this trip and turn to the Lord for salvation. As always, thank you for your support of Penny Crusade which makes the Cabrizos ministry through Agape House and the educational ministry of CANDORTCI possible.
