Missionaries Erwin and Rowena Cabrizos and their family arrived in New York on July 6 after a 14-hour flight from Haneda, Japan. During their several weeks in the United States, they are visiting churches, sharing about their ministry and strengthening relationships with those who support Advent Christian missions.
After recovering from jet lag, the family enjoyed time with relatives and visited several sights in New York City. Rowena expressed gratitude for the prayers of the ACGC family.
“We praise and thank God for the fine weather and good health,” she said. “We are excited about this journey and how the Lord will be glorified in our lives and in our midst as we … visit churches and meet people as he leads.”
Their first church visit was July 12 at Torrington Advent Christian Church in Connecticut. Erwin and Rowena shared what God had placed on their hearts and enjoyed worship and fellowship with the congregation.
From July 14–16, the Cabrizos family visited The Church of the Highlands in Illinois. On Wednesday evening, the church hosted a cookout with guests from New Hope, DeKalb and Prophetstown. Following the meal, the Cabrizos’ shared the story of Agape House through words and songs.
On Sunday, July 19, the family shared during the morning worship service at Hope Community Church in Chicago. A meet-and-greet time afterward gave church members an opportunity to connect with them personally and learn more about their ministry.
Erwin and Rowena directly oversee Agape House Ministries in several countries including Japan, which was featured in this year’s Penny Crusade materials. Their time in the United States is helping churches connect more personally with the work supported by our mission fundraisers.
