Whereas, there is considerable medical evidence of the dangers of cigarette smoking, such as impaired respiratory health,
Be it Therefore Resolved that the Advent Christian General Conference of America go on record urging all people to refrain from smoking because it is harmful to health, and we further urge all tobacco farmers to carefully and prayerfully consider other ways of earning a living, and
Be it Further Resolved that we urge President Carter to seek new ways to meet the needs of farmers who would be economically hurt by such action.
