We are saddened to share that Pastors Amos Komanya and Johnson Odoyo from Tanzania were denied visas to travel to the United States to attend ACGC’s Triennial Convention scheduled for August 17–21. With Presidential Proclamation 10998, “Restricting and Limiting the Entry of Foreign Nationals to Protect the Security of The United States,” still in effect, their travel could not be shown to be of “critical U.S. national interest.” We had looked forward to welcoming them, and we know their presence would have brought great encouragement and joy to our convention.
Even in this disappointment, we give thanks for the strong bond we share with our brothers and sisters in Christ in Tanzania. We are grateful for the ways God is at work through the Advent Christian Conference of Tanzania, which continues to grow in both numbers and health, and through ongoing mission efforts among the Hadzabe and Datoga tribes. Please join us in praying for Pastors Amos and Johnson, and for future opportunities to gather together in person and strengthen the fellowship we cherish.

I will be praying for our brothers in Christ in Tanzania. I am so sad to hear that they will not be able to come to the United States.
I am always in awe of the way God works through these men. The stories of witch doctors and village leaders coming to Christ are miraculous! They would be incredible to listen to. It’s extremely unfortunate that they will not be allowed to enter our country.
I pray that Johnson and Amos know how much they are prayed for here in the U.S. They are a source of encouragement to us in WHFMS as we lift them and their families up to our Lord.
I feel very much Bad about the outcome on both Amos and Johnson not visiting the States to attend the convention. Let us always seek God’s appointed timing for them or any one else to attend the convention or just go for a visit to the States mostly from Africa .
